Ski enthusiasts looking for holiday quarters to purchase have a wealth of choices. Europe has many world-class ski resorts nestled among charming hamlets in the Alps and other ranges. Whether in the market for a ski condo, a chalet or something on a grander scale, property hunters should consider convenience, ski amenities and après ski activities to narrow their options.

1. Les Arcs, France

Ski the French Alps from your vacation property in Les Arcs, located in the Savoie region of France. Paradiski, La Plagne and Peisey-Vallandry are the three local resorts that are within easy travel of one another, comprising a collective 425km of runs. 3. Wengen, Switzerland

For a true ski hideaway, Grindelwald village in Wengen provides a traffic-free, relaxing atmosphere in the Swiss Alps. With ski runs to suit beginners through experts plus 213 km of ski trails, Wengen is a great family recreational region that everyone will enjoy. 4. Baqueria-Beret, Spain

Baqueria-Beret, located in the Catalan Pyrenees, is a prime location for a holiday retreat. Patronised by Spanish royals, it is the largest and most popular ski destination in the country. The resort includes more than 80 km of runs, and the resort village is well-supplied with restaurants and nightclubs. Baqueria-Beret is approximately 200 km from Barcelona by car.

5. Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany

Located 60 km south of Munich in the Bavarian Alps, this resort includes Zugspitze, the country’s highest mountain. World-class runs combined with varied cuisine and old-world hospitality highly recommend Garmisch-Partenkirchen. With plenty of winter sports activities and nearby spa facilities, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a great option for a holiday retreat.
